Telehealth Information
Psychiatric Care Through Telehealth in North Carolina
Causeway offers telehealth for appropriate outpatient psychiatric evaluations and medication-management follow-up.
Your Location Matters
You must be physically located in North Carolina for every telehealth appointment. We will confirm your exact location and callback number at the beginning of the visit.
Contact Causeway before your appointment if you will be traveling outside North Carolina.
Prepare Your Space
Choose a private, reasonably quiet place where you can speak freely. Please do not attend while driving or operating machinery.
Have your medication list, preferred pharmacy information, and questions available.
Prepare Your Device
Use a device with working video and audio and a reliable internet connection. Follow the appointment link and instructions provided by Causeway.
If possible, check your camera, microphone, and connection before the visit.
If Technology Fails
Try reconnecting using your appointment instructions. Causeway may call you, attempt to reconnect, reschedule, or recommend local care depending on the circumstances.
An In-Person Visit May Be Needed
Telehealth has limitations. An in-person evaluation, testing, or referral may be recommended when necessary for safe and appropriate care.
Registration and Payment
The same registration deadlines and applicable payment and cancellation policies apply to telehealth appointments.
Privacy and Recording
Use a private location and tell the provider if another person is present. Discuss any proposed recording or transcription before it begins. Causeway asks everyone who would be recorded to agree in writing beforehand.
